Top Quality Deck Refurbishing and Deck Staining project completed in Raleigh, NC
July 13, 2024
Transforming this massive deck in Raleigh, NC was an absolute treat!
I started by utilizing a cats claw to remove the old nails from the rotten boards, and pulled them up with a crowbar & hammer, being careful not to damage the good boards next to them.
After removing the rotted boards, I went ahead and measured, precisely cut, and placed the new deck boards, fastened with proper wood screws guaranteed to keep the boards in place for life.
I then went ahead and tackled the hand rails, removing them and replacing them with precision cuts for perfect uniformity.
To stain the deck, I utilized a Graco Magnum X7 sprayer with the 311 spray tip suitable for the Behr Cedar-toned semi transparent stain that was used for the wood staining.
I sprayed one board at a time, overlapping half a board per spray, maintaining the same distance with each spray. After each spray, i back rolled / back brushed the deck boards and spindles / hand rails to ensure full coverage and penetration.
This resulted in a beautifully stained deck with two full coverage coats to ensure it lasts 5-10 years depending on maintenance.
